The Posture of Waiting

(A Reflection for the One Who's Growing in the Wait)

Waiting is something we all have to do.
But let’s be real—waiting isn’t what it used to be.
With today’s fast-paced world, modern technology has made waiting feel almost unnecessary. We no longer have to stand in long lines or deal with slow-moving systems. We tap, we swipe, we click—and just like that, it’s done.
Need to check out at the store? You can skip the cashier and head to self-service.
Flying somewhere? Kiosks take care of it.
Even your groceries—one click, and they’re on your doorstep.
It’s convenient. It’s efficient. It’s progress, right?
But what happens when life—or Yah—requires us to wait on something we can’t speed up?
When you're required to wait—practically speaking—
How are you waiting?
What’s your posture?
Is it in peace and patience?
Anger or agitation?
Anxiousness and alarm?
Be honest with yourself here.
I’ll go first—
I’m usually pretty patient.
If something takes longer than expected,
I’ll ask, “How much longer?”
Especially if I have somewhere to be.
That’s fair... in the natural.
But with Yah—
the One who exists outside of time,
who holds our outcomes and our becoming
How do we wait then?
When Yah doesn’t respond according to our timeline,
what starts to rise in us?
Do we feel anxious?
Maybe indifferent?
Do doubts creep in or does frustration take root?
Or—
Are we patient?
Peaceful?
Joyful?
Praising while we wait?
Do we wait respectfully on Yah?
Remember—He waited on you.
Do not be easily moved.
✦ Poetic Reflection ✦
Waiting
Expecting
Knowing
In tune with the flow of life—
In Yah’s eyes:
We are His possession.
Precious.
Set-apart for His purpose.
Rejoicing,
Knowing that the greater is yet to come.
Sit at His feet a little while…
Child of Yah,
Breathe and see—
You need Him.
Resist that which is contrary
to His instruction.
How has your posture been in this season of waiting? Is there a shift The Most High is inviting you to make—not in your plans, but in your heart? Share a thought, a verse, or simply sit with Him a little while longer today.
